Delete your CleverWords account

Sorry to see you go. You can delete your account and its data in the app, or ask us to do it here.

In the app (fastest)

Open CleverWords and go to the You tab.
Tap Delete account, then confirm. You may need to sign in again first.

It happens right away. Deleting the app from your phone doesn’t delete your account.

If you have a Regulars subscription, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings too. Deleting your account doesn’t stop the subscription.

What happens to your data

Deleted

Your sign-in (Apple, Google, email or Facebook)
Your name and profile photo. Your name becomes “Deleted”.
Your devices, so notifications stop
The text of every chat message you sent
Your Daily Guesser plays and Mini guesses
Your private notes in games
Your favorites and block list, and your place in other players’ favorites
Your place in the queue for games with new players
Your sign-up record, which holds your email

Kept, without your name

Games you played with others stay for them, with your seat shown as “Deleted”. Two-player games still in progress are ended.
Clues and guesses in those games, and Minis you set, as part of the game
Purchase records, which we need for accounting and the app stores
Reports you made or that were made about you, for safety
Game statistics with names and contact details removed
Analytics and crash data, until they expire on Google’s schedule

Ask us to delete it

Can’t get into the app? Send us this form. We’ll email you to confirm it’s your account, then delete it within 30 days, usually much sooner. You can also email support@cleverwords.app.
